Astor Place Community Garden began June 30, 2012. The Garden is a calibration with Julia A. Barnes our adopted and beloved grammar school in our area. The Garden also partners as of February, 2013 with Lincoln High School and will continue to partner with others.
In the first year the Garden produced flowers, a variety of herbs, corn, cabbage, five types of tomatoes, cucumbers, beets, radishes, spring mix lettuce, squash, collard greens, pumpkins, string beans, peas, etc.
This year with the continued help of the greater community of volunteers we can produce more and eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
